Welcome to the Earth & Spirit Council website!
The Earth & Spirit Council is a 501(c)(3) educational organization dedicated to strengthening our connection with the natural world. Formed in 1991, ESC's mission is, “To encourage and support people in developing a healthy, sustainable relationship to the Earth.”
We are a volunteer, member organization of environmental and spiritual leaders and concerned members of the community. Though not affiliated with any particular religion or spiritual practice, Earth and Spirit Council provides a forum for everyone to explore their common connection and commitment to protecting the environment. ESC is one of the few educational organizations to incorporate indigenous cultures' wisdom about our connection to the Earth. At the heart of the Council is the idea that the spiritual dimension of life offers the greatest untapped reservoir of power, imagination, and courage for meeting the challenge of the damaged Earth and calling humanity into a new relationship with the natural order. We seek to change the present cultural view to a bio-centric view that honors and respects the interconnection of all life.
Serving thousands of citizens, and reaching out nationally and internationally, Earth and Spirit Council designs and produces large-scale community projects, classes and workshops, conferences, and ceremonies. Through these educational activities, participants gain an increased appreciation and understanding of their interdependence with the Natural World, which provides a basis for environmental action. Our three current projects are the Natural Way, internet Wisdom Education, and Earth Arts.
