Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madrona is the author of “Coyote Medicine” and a Native American healer. In his practice he weaves indigenous cultural wisdom into his practice as an MD and clinical psychologist.

In this DVD, he will compare and contrast allopathic medicine with native healing practices. He will also discuss various systems of healing from diverse cultures around the world (including Western technological medicine), and will describe these systems as stories of the culture to which the healing is being applied.

He will also explore the different ways that cultures define health and disease. Stories which cultures tell about health and disease will be discussed as well as the role of traditional healers in reducing health disparities. Dr. Mehl-Madrona will further reflect upon models for health provider/traditional healer interactions and collaborations.
