She is the oldest living member of her tribe, the Takelma Indians who originate from Southern Oregon. Agnes is a world renowned spiritual leader and keeper of the Sacred Salmon Ceremony.

Grandma Aggie is a member of the International Council of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers that represent a global alliance of prayer, education and healing for our Mother Earth and all her inhabitants. She has become an ambassador for Mother Earth, a voice for the voiceless, and seeks to prevent spiritual blindness by helping us to remember the ways of living that we all share as people of the Earth.
