Ted Williams, Tuscarora elder of the Wolf Clan, shares his knowledge and discusses the significance of The Great Law of Peace, which is the oldest and long-lived treaty of peace in the world. Many people, including the founding fathers of the United States have been impressed by this Iroquois model. This great model is important to the Iroquois Confederacy because these teachings are from a revered spiritual leader who taught the Iroquois how to coexist peacefully, during a time of great conflict with one another.
Ted Williams was an author, a singer a sun-dancer, respected member of the Iroquois. He was also a member of the Long House of the Six Nations and False Face Healing society. Williams is the acclaimed author of “The Reservation” a book hailed as “rough edged, brilliant” by Cross Currents. Ted has also had articles published in the Audubon magazine. In this DVD Williams speaks on ritual, community, and the Great Law of Peace. Williams has also given many lectures throughout the U.S. speaking about his commitment to community, cultural preservation and the importance of ritual in modern and traditional Native American societies.
