Michael Two Feathers
Canunpa Carrier for the People
As a child, Michael Two Feathers accompanied his father to a powwow in Oklahoma, where his father turned to him and said: “You're an Indian, too, just like these dancers.” This was the only time his father had ever commented on his descent. Years later, when “love and peace” ruled the spirit of the times, Michael reconnected with the roots of his Indian culture. In 1969, via the squatting of Alcatraz Island, he met other Indians who initiated him into the history of the Lakota and their rituals and ceremonies. He actively participates in the Sundance ceremony and frequently travels to Europe for ceremonies and teachings.
